On December 1st all the plants on my kitchen window ledge were told to hit the road to make room for my little Christmas Village.
“Told to hit the road” sounded catchier than “lovingly transported to another window after fertilizing and watering”. I love my plants.
The kitchen window ledge is the ideal spot for a very breakable, porcelain village as it’s very much unreachable to toddler hands.

I love the modern look of the all white Christmas Villages and how cozy they are when they’re lit up at night. I had my eyes on the houses from Target but had a hard time tracking them down so I opted to buy this porcelain Christmas Village set from Amazon. The added bonus was it came with the cute little bottle brush trees. I covered the ledge with a snow blanket that I cut to size. I layered in some twinkle lights behind the houses for a little extra oomph.
I lined the window with two of these garlands from Michaels. I used command hooks to hang them.
I added some homemade crochet snowflakes made by my talented mom. Here’s a Pin I found with some patterns for crochet snowflakes if you are super crafty like my mom. If you would prefer to skip the homemade aspect here, head on over to trusty Amazon and purchase some similar snowflakes here.
I made this festive dried orange garland to add a pop of color. Check out my blog post on how to create your own!
